PHILANTHROPY

I’m the Founder, President, and Chairman of the COMMON Foundation.

Established in 2007, I created the COMMON Foundation to incubate non-profit social and environmental enterprises.

I oversee the Foundation’s management, from the long-term strategic vision to budgeting to the establishment of operational plans and systems to achieve foundation goals and remain compliant with non-profit law. I manage the vetting of fiscally sponsored projects, donor-advised funds, and domestic and international partnerships. I also manage strategy implementation with a core team and the program directors. As Chairman, I lead the Board of Directors and Advisory Board.

We’ve launched dozens of projects since 2007 in the United States, Africa, and Latin America. Themes have included Water, Access to Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) to educational scholarships for minority and underserved students and teachers to efforts that address climate change and rainforest conservation, immigrant legal advocacy, among others.

Select Projects: Dragons Global Education Fund; COVID19 Community Relief Fund; Mariposa Legal; Boulder.Earth; FearLess Revolution; Nueva School Scholarship Fund, Garcia-Meza Scholarship, Infuse2; 17 Accelerator/17 Solutions; Sidney & Phyllis Krystal Foundation; Power of Hope Kibera; Nepal Earthquake Relief; Mountain Flower Goat Dairy; National Park Experience: a film series; Boulder Mudslingers-Community Organized Flood Relief; Wild Horse Project; Little Guy Certified; Dream Biography, and more.

After a decade of experience in the non-profit sector and research and development, we have expanded our services to include: fiscal sponsorship for non-profit projects, donor-advised funds, philanthropic advising, set up and execute scholarship programs, conduct legacy research and development, create non-profit and impact investment strategies, and provide a range of consultative services.
