VANISHED – A NOVEL

FacebooklinkedinmailFacebooklinkedinmail

A psychological, ecological, and metaphysical journey into the unknown—the unseen.

Set deep in the Peruvian Amazon, Vanished is a contemporary dystopian novel that follows the surreal unraveling of the human-made world through the eyes of Hermes, a journalist on assignment. When every material object suddenly disappears, leaving no trace of civilization, Hermes and his fellow expedition members must confront the rainforest’s raw intensity and the collapse of everything they once believed to be real.

As they navigate a landscape stripped of technology, tools, and even clothing, the group must survive, reckon with their past, and face an evolving consciousness that may hold the key to restoring or redefining the world entirely.

Themes

  • Consciousness and collapse: What if our world disappeared, and only our minds remained?
  • Nature as teacher: The forest is not just backdrop—it’s protagonist, mirror, and guide.
  • Memory, myth, and meaning: When culture vanishes, what stories do we tell to survive?
  • Systems change from the inside out: The novel explores how personal awakening may be the only path to collective transformation.

Origins and Intent

Vanished is rooted in my years of environmental work, global travel, and personal transformation, including surviving Stage IV cancer. The story emerged from a question I couldn’t shake: What happens when the systems we rely on disappear, and we’re left only with the raw material of consciousness?

Blending speculative fiction, spiritual inquiry, and psychological tension, the novel is both an exploration and an offering—a way to imagine how we might evolve beyond collapse into clarity, connection, and collective responsibility.

Status

Currently in development: The manuscript is undergoing advanced revision and editorial refinement. The first chapters have been workshopped and edited with feedback from literary professionals and trusted readers. This is a long-form literary work in progress, intended for traditional publication.
